Introduction
Nestled within wild and beautiful Vegglifjell, this stylish yet welcoming retreat offers a peaceful escape during all four seasons of the year. Sleeping up to nine adults, or eight adults and two children, it is a sublime retreat for families and friends alike, less than three hours from Oslo.
Step inside this divine dwelling to discover gorgeous spaces with exquisite, high quality interiors. With a minimal tone palette and soft textural details, the vibe is soft and serene and the vaulted beamed ceilings lend it a bright and airy feel, which makes the whole cabin feels spacious and calming.
The living room is a wonderful laid-back space with one large sofa and two armchairs – perfect for conversation, playing board games and sipping hot toddies by the fireplace. Adjacent to the living room is a spacious open-plan kitchen and dining area, complete with a large wooden table and generous seating for ten. A glass door next to the kitchen leads out on to the terrace for meals alfresco, a bubbling hot tub and sweeping views of the surroundings.
There are four beautifully styled and relaxing bedrooms to choose from at Vegglifjell. The first bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom with a walk in shower and direct access to the terrasse. The second and third bedroom also reside double beds while bedroom four is a delightful bunkroom with a full bed over another full bed, which makes it just a perfect bedroom for a family of two adults and two children, or alternatively three adults. These three bedrooms share a bathroom.

Activities
Vegglifjell is an old mountain pasture for the farms on the west side of Veggli. There are still preserved embankments and buildings in the area and today it serves as a destination for activities such as hiking, fishing and cross-country skiing.
- • 12 km to Veggli Vertshus and cycle along the deserted Numedalsbanen rail tracks on a draisine
- • 13 km and a hike to Senhovd - a scenic mountain view in Norway 1143 meters above sea level. The peak towers over the landscape and offers fantastic views up and down Numedal and towards Gaustatoppen.
- • Hardangervidda National Park - Norway's biggest national park and the largest high-mountain plateau in Northern Europe. A fantastic place for hiking and with opportunities for fishing, hunting and berry picking.
- • 68 km to Langedrag Nature Park known for its collection of various old livestock breeds and wild animals from the Norwegian fauna.
- • 77 km to Rjukan. Immerse yourself into culture and history in the town which is world famous for the "heavy water sabotages", is on UNESCO's World Heritage List and has become world famous for the sun mirror.
- • 80 km to The Silver Mines in Kongsberg. Over 330 years of mining history are on display and a mine train takes you 2.3 kilometres (1.4 miles) into the spectacular King's Mine, the largest of the silver mines.
- • 81 km to Krossobanen - the first cable car in Northern Europe build in 1928 and a gift from Norsk Hydro to the townspeople of Rjukan. In less than four and a half minutes the cable car takes passengers up to an altitude of 886 metres and the foot of Hardangervidda National Park.
- • 86 km and a hike to Gaustatoppen - the iconic peak of Telemark. The mountain is 1883 meters above sea level and the top is easily accessible and easily climbed. The view is spectacular and on a clear day you can see approximately one sixth of Norway from the top.
- • 86 km to Gaustabanen - an underground train that runs inside of Mount Gaustatoppen all the way up to the summit. It was originally build as a secret military facility for NATO during the Cold War.

Introduction
This cabin in the Gausta region of Norway is exactly what we love – a deeply cosy dwelling designed thoughtfully with lots of interior details and with a world of natural beauty at its doorstep.
Build in a classic Norwegian style, the cabin has recently undergone an extensive renovation, and the result is one of a stylish, upscale mountain lodge. Inside, elegant and contemporary furnishings have been seamlessly fused with traditional dark wooden panelling to create a warm refined atmosphere. The cabin stretches across two storeys, and is designed to comfortably accommodate twelve guests in five bedrooms.
On the ground floor you will find a fully-equipped kitchen, adjacent to a wonderful open-plan living and dining space. Large velvet armchairs, a comfortable sofa and a wood burning fireplace, invites guests to sink into relaxation while watching the sun dip behind the mountains. Three of the cabin’s bedrooms are located on the ground floor; two double bedrooms and a family bedroom with a double bed and an upper single bed (bunk-bed). Additionally, there is a bathroom, an in-house sauna and an entrance way with plenty of storage space.
Moving upstairs, the second floor is home to a television-room with a comfortable sitting area, Apple TV and playstation. This is a true delight for kids and perfect for the occasional rainy day. Also on this floor there is a second bathroom and two further bedrooms; a double bedroom and another family bedroom with a double bed and an upper single bed (bunk bed).
Wander outside to find an expansive wrap-around terrace and enjoy the breathtaking views of the surroundings; from the endless highland plateau of Hardangervidda, to the Gausta summit. The cabin is located on a quiet cul-de-sac with hiking terrain and ski-in / ski-out right next to it.
Additional amenities include a laundry room for convenience, a BBQ grill, a fire pit and own private parking with space for up to four cars.
